Whether you’re a local or from out of town vacationing in Florida, I hope you will find something on this quick list! Fort Myers is beautiful fats growing city but to me, slowing down and finding the calm is what it’s all about!
#1 – Visit Lakes Park
Lakes park is not one of your simple playground parks. There is a variety of activities to be done here. It is located in Fort Myers off of Gladiolus Blvd.
Here is a list of amenities and to-do’s inside the park:
- 2 Playgrounds – Small park for younger kids + Large park for all ages
- Splash pad
- Small train ride
- Flower Garden walk through
- Children’s Garden
- Nature Trail
- Ice Cream + Snack Shop
- View of the lake from the snack shop, check for the turtle friends!
Parking is only $1/Hour or $5/Day – Train Ride is $5 for everyone over 6 y/o. Younger than 6 will lap ride for free!

#2 Caloosahatchee Creeks Preserve East
This nature preserve is a rustic, nature lover’s heaven. There are boardwalk that will weave you through the pines + a trail of ferns leading around a loop that connects to the boardwalk.
Beautiful place to get pictures of nature and wildlife! Pets are allowed so you might get to say hi to a good boy or two while you’re there.
This park also has a small bathroom and 2 pavilions making it a great place to enjoy lunch before or after your exploration.
#3 Bowditch Point Park on Fort Myers Beach
Bowditch Point Park is at the very end of Fort Myers Beach. It has foliage pathways leading out to the sand and water. These pathways have little hidden gardens and more paths springing off along with small beach accesses you wouldn’t find without first wandering through the nature paths.
Once you get to the main beach you will find rock jetties and beautiful driftwood!
And a last little bit of advice..
Once you’ve visited all three. Think back to which you loved the most. Which speaks to your heart the most and what scenic view match your style the best.
